Picked up a legit 42 svt sniper few weeks back from a fellow gunny. Couldn't find an orig scope or mount anywhere online so I took advantage of a sale at things militaria for a repro scope and mount. Fits like a glove.

Isnt she pretty?

Few well done stock repairs. Metal is very good, bore is nice and shiny. Cant wait to take her out! Now my problem is i cant find any surplus ammo worthy for her consumption that isn't 400+ a case.

I can't see any picture?! :(

She is pretty alright, however you could make her look in all her glory with better camera. BTW don't shoot with repro mount without shim, you'll damage the notch.

good tip, ill see if i can find some brass shim for the notch, it's pretty tight tho, itl have to be really thin. beer can aluminum might be thin enough too. My phone camera will have to do for now, i spent all my money on guns.

According to the serial number ranges posted on gunboards.com the number falls between two "NIPSVO test rifles" any idea what the story is on those? My google-fu is failing me.

Can you post a picture of serial number to update the records?
NIPSVO test rifles are regular rifles sent to army proVing range for testings. NIPSVO stands for Scientific-ProVing Range for Small Arms.
