Meet my "Blue Ball Ammo"

This might be a silly question, But can I just powder coat bullets that already have a jacket on them? Or does it only work with cast bullets?

My concern is that the powder coating would make the bullet diameter too thick to fire safely, but then again I could be greatly exaggerating the thickness of the PC.

What would be the point other then adding colour? You would have to resize the bullets unless it was a really sloppy bore.

Although now I want to try it haha.

Resizing jacketed bullets can be dangerous. Jackets spring back more than lead cores and can separate. This can lead to separation and a barrel obstruction. The more you resize them surprisingly the less chance of it happening. Just .001-.002" is asking for trouble imo.

I've always associated 'BLUE' with training or items that are inert/have inert projectiles.

Perhaps another colour is best?

Cheers!

Those are different though. Ares bullets are "hi tek" polymer coated. They have a few benefits such as higher velocity with a lower charge. Alot of competitive shooters are using them
