Hi I am also in the GVRD just applied for my PAL and RPAL

I am planning to get into clay sport shooting (sporting clays, trap and skeet)

still researching O/U shot guns and will pick one up once I have my license in hand.
I just did some decent clay shooting this weekend at TMSA. it's a lot of fun

Right on! Hopefully it doesn't take 6 months to get my license. I already have a safe and it's ready to be filled up.

Also going to sign up for IPSC and get my black badge.

Greetings from Abbotsford. Member at abby and Chilliwack range. Has been an amazing experience. So far i have tried 22nrl matches, trap shooting and was lucky enough to go to a battle rifle match. Looking forward to meet some likeminded people around

I haven’t spent much time at the creston range but I’m pretty sure there’s a pretty solid group of long range shooters.
Looking forward to joining up and learning from there experiences

Hello! Newbie from Surrey here!

I was wondering if anyone knows the yardage of the rifle ranges at Semiahmoo Fish & Game or Langley Rod and Gun. I can't seem to find any information on either of their websites. I know PCDHFC's Range 7 is 200 yards and Mission's goes out to 300, but they're a bit further out from home base.

As far as getting a PAL, anyone got any reviews about BC Firearms Academy? They've got some Thursday courses that'll work for my days off so I'm leaning more towards them than Coastal Firearm Safety Training, which does Tuesda-Wednesday.

Sometimes it's just worth the drive. IMHO Mission far surpasses the other lower mainland ranges and continues to get better. They operate as not for profit, so they stay inexpensive for the level of services that they provide. They are a safe range by upholding good standards. They have the most dedicated range types in the lower mainland and the longest rifle in the GVRD. A kitchen with food and so much more. Langley is good but doesn't really compare. If drive time is a factor, there are the indoor ranges, expensive, short and not really multi discipline. As far as training goes, Silvercore is the best bang for the buck, again IMHO. I believe BCFA is out in Chilliwack so probably a bit further and one of the main facilities they used has been closed. Hopefully not permanent but it's a Libtard world. Cheers
Are you asking the distance of The Range in Langley? It's indoor so not long. Semiahmoo breeds fish for profit, no shooting.

Semiahmoo seems to do shooting, at least according to their website. Looks like the indoor range is 20y - totally could not find that info before - and they do a rimfire night on Tuesdays. ^_^

I will definitely be looking into membership in Mission! Thank you for the recommendation!

BC Firearms Academy has classes throughout the lower mainland from Richmond to Chilliwack, they are excellent to deal with and have many top quality instructors.
Mission is a great facility as is Abbotsford, both offer just about every type of shooting available but Mission has a better set up for longer shooting, 300 yards if I’m not mistaken. Chilliwack is also a fantastic facility, 200 yard long range and offer many different disciplines to shoot, much like Abby and Mission, however Chilliwack’s Limited Distance bays are the big selling point to their setup, especially if you like running your own drills in a more tactical sense. Good luck picking the right facility for you but all three I have mentioned are very good 👍

Cheers. PM me if you want. I am happy to take a guest if it works for you and me, timing wise. I will say that any of the better ranges run more events and Mission can be busy at times as they run so many disciplines and sanctioned events. Depending on what your thinking of doing or what interests you (you haven't mentioned) Mission has some cool spectator days. Like when the "Wild Bunch" and "Black Powder Sunday" happen on the same day. Check out the calendar on the website.
Ridgedale isn't bad but their guest policy is counter productive and the facility is considerably smaller. Also the same travel time for me compared to Mission.
It mostly comes down to what your interested in getting into. If you haven't decided yet, Mission has the most variety.
