Meeting place for Newbies and Mentors - Sask.

Hey everyone! I'm new here to the site. Have hunted and shot rifles/shotguns since I was a kid, and finally took my RPAL course a few weeks back and waiting on that. Is there anyone around that takes people out to shoot handguns, it would be great to try a few before purchasing something.

Count your lucky stars you have a range like Condie for the price they charge; it's a BARGAIN. We moved back to Calgary last year; there isn't an outdoor range within an hour of the city, one ppublic range west of town that was permanently closed this year because of abuse, not cleaning up your mess, etc. The closest range with half the facilities of Condie is 90 min. away and 3X the price. Shooting indoors cost me over $600/year for membership alone...no discounts on ammo at all, ever.

Shooting opportunities in Regina and S'Toon are endless in comparison

wow. Sorry to hear. Yes, we are very fortunate to have these ranges here at that cost; now that I know what Calgary's prices are. Though, we see increases in prices every year as well but thankfully they are not at the $600 mark yet.

Hi Jack
Sask wildlife federation has a good outdoor range. I haven't been to the indoor ranges like Saskatoon Gunworks on Ontario, but that's also an option.

I am also looking at joining the sask wildlife federation but the member ship will run me around 400$ so I need to see if they have payment plans.

I have also tried local classifieds with no luck obtaining land to practice. I will give cgn a shot as well!

Does anyone around saskatoon have a parcel of land in could target shoot on from time to time? I'll leave the land the way I found it and willing to do a meet and greet in town prior!

Hey all. I am a new shooter but I have caught the bug. Went out and bought a .22 and a membership at Wascana. I am going to look at the other clubs around town, I like the idea of the Condie club because it is close to home.

Hey. new to the site and currently awaiting my PAL. Just thought i would introduce myself to fellow sask members. Im from Saskatoon and am always looking for someone to shoot with/places to shoot.

I meant to go the the Wildlife Club last night but didn't get there. Next Wednesday. the shooting lanes at Wascana are a bit narrow but I tell you I don't think you can beat the members there. Had a bit of trouble with the gun first time out and they were on the spot to assist. I really like it there.

People near Saskatoon /Prince Albert looking for a cheaper range option could look into Valley Trails Wildlife Federation...it is a branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and includes the areas of Aberdeen, Warman, Martensville, Osler, Hague, Rosthern, Waldheim, Hepburn, and Laird and all small towns and Hamlets in the Valley Area. they have a FB page or email them for more info valleytrailswildlife@gmail.com .... shooting range which included a pistol range was near Rosthern, outdoor only.

Nipawin area here. Frequent at Torch River gun range north of whitefox. If anyone in the area wants to head there it's $30 for the year just pick up a membership at the convenience store in white fox. See ya there!

Check the Saskatoon Wildlife Fed. calendar on their website. It should show dates and contact info. I tried to contact the guy a few times but he never got back to me, don't know what his deal is. Or call them up, the ladies in the office will be able to point you in the right direction.
