Does one really need 2 references to be able to join the ORA?

I was told that, and complied. So did another person I know of. The references were contacted.

The membership secretary will call your references, no big deal. Not as bad as getting a passport, you can use anybody you know. You might try to avoid using your ex-wife (unless you are on very good terms) or your probation officer as references though
