Memember the Marlin goose gun?

The first 12ga I ever shot was a Goose Gun, and paper hull Boar shells from Poland. Had an old metal garbage can lid hung off a branch in our gravel pit. Taught a youngster all about feeding and cycling issues, as well as keeping your barrel free of mud hahahaha
I’d buy one for cheap only for the nostalgia. Never did hunt with it.

I remember those Polish shells named Boar. They were paper and had what my dad said seemed to be horse hair wads. Canadian Tire had skids of them for about 2.35 a box IIRC. Just the ticket for cash strapped farm boys to shoot with. Wish I had kept some. They had a well rendered image of a charging boar on the paper hull. Thanks for the memory DTKB.

I do not remember the boar, but the paper shells and the smell of burned horse hair, I do - we used to buy wooden cases of them at Army and Navy store in Saskatoon - cheap, cheap, cheapest by far of any 12 gauge factory made shells that my buddy and I ever could find. Many tied up his Remington 1100 semi - all fed fine in my BPS - mucho fun times blasting them away at clay pigeons from a spring powered thrower in a Saskatchewan field!!! Multiple levels of noise and recoil from same box - was easy to visualize a little guy on a stool in Poland with a dipper and a bucket of powder - some got more powder; some got less - had to end up with no more cases and no more powder, we presumed...

Another paper shell from Poland that Canadian Tire sold was "Pawam Pionka". They were much the same as Boar. Smelly, jammed semi auto's and smelled like a barn fire when discharged.

I have one, never shot it, don't remember how I came by it ! Cool thing is it had the "micro choke " which did add some ### appeal.
