Two men have been fined $2,500 for harassing a moose out for swim in northwestern Ontario, local media report.
In July, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources was told about a boat that circled a cow moose in Eagle Lake west of Dryden, Ont., and prevented it from getting to shore, CKDR reports. Ministry officials were also given video footage.
Andrew Weiers, of Dryden, and Matthew Weiers, of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., left the area but returned with three more passengers and they continued to circle the moose, the radio station reports.
Matthew then jumped on the back of the moose, CKDR reported.
Andrew's boat was seized and will be returned after the fines are paid.
Moose are biologically programmed for fear and will attempt to escape, but if they can't the fear can cause exhaustion, stress and death, the ministry said.
 
They should get a minimum fine of $25,000 each & forfeit boat, trailer & vehicle that pulled it to the crown - scum sucking POS.
 
Honestly I don't know about some people. What would ever make you think you could ride a moose let alone in the water?
To bad the moose didn't drown them, we'd be far better off.

Make them swim with someone on their back & make em suck air the hard way & see if they like it!
Canadian law is too lax on crap like this....

Give them the death penalty as far as I'm concerned!
 
1) They should lose the boat
2) All five people should be fined and a lot more than $2500
3) The one fella should buy a lottery ticket because he's lucky the moose didn't kill him

Death penalty? really? Give yer head a shake.

Stupid is as stupid does, and there does not seem to be anyone stupider than someone that is willing to videotape themselves doing stupid things.

Caught, dealt with, and done.

Try to keep some sense of perspective, and not come across like bunch of untrustworthy reactionary gits.
