Men use revolvers, wieners shoot fast with semis

I know how to put 6 rounds in the gun but unless it is being stored illegally with one in the pipe, it would be ridiculous to think that in a shtf situation you would take the time to load 1 in the chamber then insert a fresh mag. Even if you had 2 loaded mags on hand and loaded the first chambered a round and then inserted the second you still only have 10 rounds available. 6 in your laded gun and 4 in the other mag. Like I said before I am trying to keep a perspective of real life scenarios here.

That's not necessarily illegal - location dependant...

Bottom line?? You do what you want and I'll do the same. It's a judgement call, not an accusation that you're a bad person because you choose to exercise a different option...

holy f**k now you're an expert on what all the agencies in the world do, amazing. How do you find the time to peruse every single department policy in the world? Well in fact it's obvious you don't, because you are patently wrong, again. Not all police agencies issue, or make available long guns to their members. Nor do all security units have access to them, so as Mis. stated, a lot of times a handgun is all they have, which means they aren't fighting back to their rifle/shotgun. Maybe it's time you took your own advice and got out of your mom's basement?

I'm sorry, could you point out where in any of my posts I've indicated that I am an "expert"?? The long gun doesn't have to be issued to be available. Bring your own. Oh wait, I know, "that's against dept policy". Is dying against the dept policy? Make your own decisions. If the risk of getting your peepee slapped over your own long gun is more important than surviving, leave the long gun at home. Perhaps a discussion with the powers that be to promote the use of long guns could change that? At the very least, take extra ammo and magazines with you. How many officers carry either or both when on duty? I'm willing to bet its very few. Entering a gunfight with only 46 rounds is not my idea of a good time.

you're posts do all the indicating dude, at least that you think you're an expert as you're so quick to tell everyone else why they are wrong. Even when a lot of them have more training and more experience than you.
I'm sure right now a bunch of cops are taking your advice and are making plans to carry their own long arms at work on their next shift..... oh wait, probably not. Of course those same guys are going to be bringing this issue to their superiors right away, all because you said so.......... oh wait a minute, probably not. Most likely any of the forward thinking LEO on here have already brought it to their superiors attention, time and time again. But it's good to know that you advocate breaking department policy, and possibly even laws for these guys.
aren't you tired of spouting stupidity yet?

I've posted my disagreements. Has anyone disputed them with some facts? I haven't seen any.

You're right, I'm sure those who are forward thinking have brought the long gun issue to the attention of their superiors and good on them for it. I ask this and its not a slam on LE. If there are many who are proactive and forward thinking. Why are there so few who compete? Why do many officers not possess a PAL? Maybe I'm crazy, but the only piece of equipment on an officers belt that ensure he goes home alive is his pistol. Running the radio, OC, baton, or any of the other million items officers are carrying these days(impressive to say the least but painfully heavy I'm sure) won't. You'd think if more officers would focus on their firearm skills as it is often the difference between ending a shift and working your last shift.

Maybe they see themselves as "Officer's of the Peace" and not as "Rambo".
Well, I certainly hope so anyway.

Being a "peace officer" involves the use of force and violence. Without it, there is no peace. I'm sure the greater majority of LEO's would prefer to use dialogue to solve problems over the tools on the belt. The reality is that the inability to use said tools could cost them their lives or that of others.

ALL of those things listed can and have ensured that the officer will go home alive, including their firearm. They are just tools used in different situations..
