meopta vs steiner....

hey everyone, am looking to pick up a new scope. want to use it for hunting and load development for my 30-06. narrowing down my choices to a steiner predator 4 about 4 x 20 or so as it seems to have the clearest glass relative to other scopes i've looked through. am considering a meopta and wondering how they would compare to a steiner. there are no meopta dealers near me and as i can't check one out before deciding on which scope to pick, am wondering if anyone here can make comments between the meopta and the steiner.

I have owned several Meopta optica 6 a 4.5-27x50 and an 2.5-15x44 and the glass quality and clarityis right there with my sworvaski z3 but they are a bit in the heavier side … I don’t have 2 much hands on experience with Steiner tho
 
Just two more data points you may be find useful (or irrelevant) I have witnessed personally a set of higher end (ie pricey) Steiner binoculars fail … internal lense element came loose . And I am familiar with the optical performance of Meopta enlarging lenses which was first rate.

I would be more likely to buy a Meopta if I was in the market although I understand today many of these optical items of various brands are either parts sourced or fully manufactured in China.
 
Meopta is neither very good at advertising nor at reading their audience: their best reticle was designed by a guy who is reviewing optics on a public forum.
But the glass is great (as in usable to the highest magnification and edge to edge and off center) way better than Steiner. Prices might reflect that.
as always I caution against comparing high end $$$$ glass to lesser $$ glass.

Great point, but to be fair Ilya reviews optics as more of a hobby, his day job involves optics and weapons sights. I think he's designed reticles for March as well, along with giving his input on scope design.
