How is the flash guard different from the included one? Also not sure what the polarizer does exactly? Os this battery powered like the washout remover

The flash guard this designed to be screwed in front of the polarizer. It appears to be the same one that comes with the M21.

Polarizer prevents wash out. There is no battery.
