Meprolight M21m?

I heard that there is an add-on battery unit that could light up the fibre optics from Meprolight.

Besides, who keeps the same optics on top of their rifle for more than 10 years without upgrading ? Methinks this is a non-issue ...

We trialed the M21 several years ago, when battery life was an issue. In training, the M21 sounded good. However, the first time you step into a poorly lit room, or dark area doing searches and sweeps, the dot gets dim, and when you turn your weapon mounted light on, the dot completely disappears. Went with aimpoint. If you arent using it operationaly, then its workable.

ok so something tells me that i will be switching to a EOTech or a ACOG, now would someone point me to some place where they buy optics (besides the EE) and some where EOTech or ACOG is sold?

umm the half life according to wikipedia is 12.32 years, so does that mean that after 12.32 years that it will run out of enough energy to power the thing?

lmao... half life means exactly what it says... HALF life... so in 12.32 years you will have half the amount of tritium left and your reticle will, I assume, be half as visible.

well I'm hoping that it takes less light than the total output to brighten the thing, so even if its at 50%, to me, its till 100% bright...

But something tells me I will off load this to someone else the first good chance I get...

If I get the Tavor, I am considering both Leupold Mk4 in 1.5-5x & 2.5-8 MRT's or one of the 5.56 ACOG's to replace the M21.
