MERGED. Type 81 is on its way to Canada. Classed as RESTRICTED

Hopefully the CBSA won't pull a "T97" when these get here. (Recall the first T97 shipment was turned back after apparently being approved).
If I were an importer, I'd buy insurance for this possibility....

Well regardless what history you have stated, kudos to the rcmp for making the right decision.

There are over 160,000 numbers for the frt system. The rcmp hasn't looked at all of them. In the early days they added frt entries on info provided without actually looking at a gun.

That was what happened with the swiss arms too. They classified it as a 540. Years later they discovered it was a 550 after a certain company sent one in to them. Originally it was classified through a document package alone.

I get what you're saying and I am aware of everything you're saying to me. Im also aware of firearms never made that have prohib FRT's attached to them. All I can say to you at this point is maybe we need to agree to disagree on the recent classifications in regards to my post number 121. yes?

I didn't know we were disagreeing about something.

Well with everything thats been said in this thread, I think we can all agree that our friends to the south are not gonna be too happy with us! lol

I'm sure there will be lot of talk that it doesn't work like an AR it's junk.
It looks like something else it's a copy etc etc.

Criminal Code, 84(1)
Barrel length

(2) For the purposes of this Part, the length of a barrel of a firearm is
(a) in the case of a revolver, the distance from the muzzle of the barrel to the breach end immediately in front of the cylinder, and
(b) in any other case, the distance from the muzzle of the barrel to and including the chamber,
but does not include the length of any component, part or accessory including any component, part or accessory designed or intended to suppress the muzzle flash or reduce recoil.

Whether it's welded or not, the flash suppressor or recoil compensator is not part of the barrel length.

Damn. I know if it's integrated into the the barrel ala AR180b it counts. I was hoping maybe that if it was permanently attached maybe the same.

Good to hear. Id be interested in an LMG model. if the barrel on those is NR. it might be cheaper than re-barreling one of the other versions.
The only way i would think about buying one is if they are NR.
