What are the pros and cons of all the hubbub over this rifle? Looks to me like a next-gen SKS, but I do admit my lack of knowledge on the Type 81 makes me biased. How would it compare to, say, a CZ858?

For one thing it won't look funny with a nonrestricted length barrel, the stock furniture is probably more comfortable also. From what I can tell in videos it seems to hold very steady while firing without having to use a muzzle brake. Lastly, it's basically not available in the U.S.

It's a US thing. Can't put a stock on a pistol AR without violating the NFA unless you get a stamp. This doesn't qualify as a stock, so you get a point of contact with the gun.

Not a great idea but apparently it works ok. Not great. Just ok.
