My Merwin Hulbert arrived today. It's a Transition .44 MH cal. Should make a nice shooter. All the numbers match, great bore and chambers, and a nice tight action. So what happened to the finish? But it was shooter price.
I have some .44 American that fit, but a bit loose, and the rim dia. a hair to big. Does anyone sell the MH brass? :)

More pics please!
A couple pics of the operation. You slide the button in front of the trigger guard, and rotate the barrel and cyl. to the side, then slide forward. The machining is so close, it pulls itself back like a spring, but is suction.
A button ahead of the cylinder is used to slide the barrel off completely. The loading gate slides down. They are a well made gun. (1878-79.)
I will try the 41 mag brass. Thanks, Bill..
