messed up the polymer frame on M&P 9

So I took a nice chunk out of the polymer frame on my m&p. since the serial number is permanently attached to the frame I'm guessing my only option is to buy a new one?

enough of a chunk to make it inoperable or unusable?, or just cosmetic... I would assume it would be easier to just buy a new gun, than have the frame replaced if that's even possible?

was re assembling the locking block into the frame and the slide lock retainer spring wasn't seated properly and it all just went downhill from there. I'd also like an excuse to buy a new one.

So does it still function? Is the damage just cosmetic and an excuse for a new toy? lol

Factory could replace the frame (with the same serial #) at a reasonable price, I would expect. Phone them and ask.

There might even be warranty on the frame. Give Murray Charlton a call in Brentwood Bay. They are the S&W Warranty/Service Center for Canada.

So you "accidentally" damaged the frame. Sounds like you have your excuse to buy a new one.
