In my eternal search and evaluation for a first handgun, I'd like to throw this out there, and see what opinions come up. ;)

I know a few plastic guns have little muzzle jump, but the ones I've looked at/fired have no interest to me.

Any of the gas retarded pistols as the recoil is straight back into the hand with minimal muzzle flip. HK P7 series, Steyr GB and Norinco M77B/NP20 are gas retarded, ranging in price from 229 dollars to 1800 for a P7M8. Also, the Grand Power K100 has very little muzzle flip due to the rotating barrel lockup.

Get a plastic gun with a ported barrel. Nice and light, but with very little muzzle flip. I haven't seen a G17C (compensated) or one of the Questar G19's with ported barrels in awhile though so you could be watching the EE for some time.

Oh man, the Sig P226 stainless is so friggin' heavy that there should be no issue with muzzle jump. Only issue is holding it steady if you don't have those forearm muscles built up, due to the weight. :D

Trigun: of all the pistols I've shot, the Glock 17 had the most muzzle flip, discounting the .44 mag I shot (which still felt nicer to shoot than the Glock :D ).

9mm Jericho 941 (Baby Eagle)

You might want to take a look at an IMI/Magnum Research Baby Eagle in 9mm. I had one in .40, and it was absolutely spectacular.

Brad

I've got one in 9mm and it's a shooter - very little jump/recoil due to weight - everyone at the range loves it.
