I've found that there seems to be a demand for a metal buttplate for the Ruger 10/22 wood stock carbine. I'm working on having some 10/22 buttplates made in brass or stainless steel that would fit current production 10/22 stocks. These would be prefitted for instant installion. It will be a couple of months but thought that I'd mention it here for interests sake. No idea on price at this tiime but will probably cost less then the price the old aluminum ones command . Input on the preferred metal would be appreciated.

The purpose of my post is to find out if it is worthwhile or not. I have noticed that the U.S. competition is often sold out and also quite expensive when you factor in rate of exchange and international shipping.

Not sure if the OP is still around.....

Does anyone know where to source one in Canada ?

Also, what if you Bead blast the blued one down, is it stainless underneath?

Has anyone Done this?

Would it be the same finish as a 90s stainless 1022 receiver?
