someone was saying they spray painted their barrel and scope with armour coat[or I think that was the name], anybody else have any experiance with this coating?I am just looking for a cheap way of dressing up my old cooey with something that will be both durable and improve the looks

armacoat

I sent off a slide to get finished in armacoat and I am thinking I should see it this week coming up. I will post pics. I asked for it to replicate a New-Style Glock finish (the subtle-textured look in satin black) on the outside, smooth on the inside.

I am keeping my fingers crossed... anyone with pics of work done by armacoat please post :D

I'm refinishing my Ishapore 1A1 with armacoat. I'll post pics when it's done.Built an oven for it, got a sand blaster, should be ready to paint on Sat. I'm going to make it digital desert sand. :D

Check out their website... they sell the paint and sprayers. You could do it yourself. Me, I am an anal bastard and any finishing work I do that involves paint always upsets me ;) (I see all the imperfections)

so-from your experiance-would you say that armacoat is a viable alternative to a reblueing job?[I'm not talking about retaining collector value, but simply refurbishing hunting rifles, scopes, etc]

You could probably do the armacoat a lot cheaper then getting it reblued.
We had a lot of people tell us at the gun show this weekend that they can't find anyone that does hot blueing.
