I came across an interesting way to load shotshells for .410 bore break actions utilizing spent .303 British cases. I've heard of guys using .405 Win. cases but they require reducing the rim diameter and shortening the case. The .303 British case has the right size rim and as a bonus, doesn't require anything other than fireforming. Using pistol primers, 1/2 - 5/8 oz shot, cardboard wads, a small amount of Herco powder and you're set for small game with your break action .410 bore. Search Google for the details ;) :D

BC Bigbore: I'm not trying to be smart but....what is the advantage of this over reloading reg. .410 shotshells which can be done easily by hand without a press or shotshell reloader? You can still use cardboard wads,1/2oz. of shot, etc.

Have an older Harrington /Richardson single shot .410........Some brands of .303 brass work fine and extract easily...some don't ..... slight variations in rim thickness/etc.........

8 grns unique........the regular gas check over powder......shot of your choice... reversed gas check on top for compression and slight crimp to keep all in place..........

no doubt wads of your choice in place of gas chex will work and keep the purists happy.....

Using "Brass" for .410 loads creates something on the lines of the old "EVERLAST" brass shotgun shells that were for sale " long "ago....... and they will last much longer than regular .410 shot hulls for reloading........

New brass shells are still available for those who might want to load their own in 12 ga........... but not in .410 /20/16 ga. to my knowledge......

Not reccomending the 303/410 load but....it works for me

Magtech in Brazil makes brass shotshells in 410, 20, 16, 12, and a couple of the weird European gauges as well. I have to get off my ass and get some fibre wads for the box of 12 gauge hulls I bought. :D
