Metering IMR ---X powders

Of all my measures I actually find the lee does best with the flakey 700 or 800X, but still not real dependable consistency.

Ideas?

Nothing you can really do, it's just the nature of the beast, flakey powders tend to bridge a lot and 700/800X are probably the worst.

Other than buying an automatic dispenser all you can do is change powder or live with it.

I use short grain and ball powders the most for this reason

I've found a dipper works pretty well with flakes.
Old casing with a piece of 12ga house wire soldered to it for a handle.
File down to adjust charge.
Not real adjustable, though

"...it's just the nature of the beast..." And that applies to all powders. Some of 'em don't flow as well as others. Using one's index finger as a tool to tap the thrower works as well as any other method.

Using 700X in my dillon with a powder measure alarm for case fill, works great. The old powder measure on the Lee pro 1000 was another story. Almsot needed a vibrator on it. Hmmm metal marking electric pencil with a setting for the amount of vibration.

Same. I find no issue using 700X in my Dillon.
