Methods of choking barrels

I've noticed that quite a few of the newer chokes for shotguns are screw-in types. Is there any major difference between this method of choking barrels and the all-one-piece one choke for one barrel method of choking the barrel?

What is an "all-one-piece one choke for one barrel"?

Are you talking about fixed chokes?

probably.. I wasn't aware of the terminology.

You get what you get with fixed chokes. Threaded removeable chokes are good because you can pick the choke you want for whatever you are shooting at and change it at a moments notice......Imp, Mod, Full, X Full, etc.....

Or are you thinking of the old style "dial in" choke? Polychoke ??. Where one twist of the choke will set it to a different choke pattern?

These chokes are not 'radial constriction' chokes like most others. The use little nubs to retard the wad as it passes thru the choke body.

Got one. Love it.

Got one. Love it

They tighten up your pattern considerably but the most important thing is that they shorten the shot string. That means more pellets hitting the target at one time.

Well worth the money IMHO
