Methods of collecting brass...

Checked the PO box today and found an incredibly well wrapped box containing 104 Winchester 30-06 1xF brass. Eagleye (Dave) does humanity credit. We are blessed to have him here as a member.

I have already gifted another member with a new set of RCBS carbide 44 mag dies, and will attempt to pay it forward to another member in need.

Thank you Dave for your generosity. PM sent

Regards, Bill

You are certainly most welcome. I believe that it is one's best interest to help out when it is in our power to do so.

Enjoy! Dave.

I was not aware of the rules concerning IVI Brass. Sorry about that.

It's sad what happened with IVI brass and the resulting issues it caused. It's great brass if you ask me. Wish I had a large stash of the stuff in any chambering they offered lol.

A positive LEO story. Met a nice guy at the range and he was shooting .308 from a very tactical looking rifle with a suppressor, naturally I was intrigued and jealous. Turns out he is RCMP and since I was shooting .308 as well (alas with no suppressor of course), he saved his brass for me.
I save 9mm for a friend and always offer up anything I don't reload to others I meet, as someone mentioned, it's all part of the brotherhood, or at least it should be.

I am fairly new to the sport of shooting (5 years) and very new to reloading (Just starting really) So I am not sure what happened to cause it to be taboo. I was offered an explanation as to why its a no-no by a member here ( who I am thankful took the time to correct me instead of throwing me under the proverbial bus).

Is there a thread that can give me a clear understanding as to why and when IVI was banned here?
