Metric Gas Lock Front sight

Hey CGN people!
I'm usually not in the habit of posting, the M14(M305) is still relatively new to me.
Anyway, I just thought I would post here after receiving my GLFS from Barry and the team at Bits of pieces. It fitted my 2011 22" Norc like a glove and also was timed so well that I don't need to shim either! Arrived in New Zealand in 10 days as well.

I have one question, now that I have moved my front sight back to the gas lock I probably need to use a shorter front sight post? Does anyone besides Springfield have alternatives on the market? (They do not reply to my emails; but they did add my email address to their mailing list =/)

you will probably need a taller front sight actually.
springfield bush rifle NM front sight, have ordered several direct from springfield..... but I called them and asked for someone in international sales.
 
I thought one of the guys on here were selling gas lock sights that fit the Norc threads , can't remember who though I'll dig through my email and see if I can find his name.

Found it , he goes by johnnyvolume , just search for gas lock sights you should find it .
 
Tech-sights makes a great little replacement front sight for the M-14/M-305 and it takes AR front sights so you can screw in and out as you require.

OP, give Springfield Armory Inc. a call directly and speak with the international sales person (Kelly, I believe her name is).
If you're in New Zealand, however, you may be out of luck...I don't know if ITAR rules allow Springfield to ship there.

Your best bet is a sight off a short barrelled model. The sight is taller than in the regular, 22 inch barrel models.

Perhaps someone on the Equipment Exchange has a spare one for sale.
