MFS 7.62x39

With my particular rifles, the MFS is much more accurate (about the same as the Norinco copper washed steel cased stuff I have from years ago).
The Czech surplus is much dirtier and significantly less accurate too, in my experience ( tried in 2 rifles).

This is fantastic ammo in my 858, very accurate. Just as an example one time I nailed a 5 inch steel plate 5 out of 5 times at 200 yards. I've fired about 300 rounds of this and never had a FTF/FTE. The thing I like most about this ammo is that it's steel cased, so it doesn't have the feed problems I encountered with brass cased ammunition. I hear that after a few hundred rounds in an 858 the feed ramp will wear enough to allow brass, but I'm so satisfied with this MFS I'm not going to bother with S&B.
I use this exclusively for hunting, and I should know how it performs on game shortly.

To the OP. I have not used MFS in X39 but am happy with the .308 performance. Of course I'm shooting in in a m305 so consitancy is not entirely an ammo issue. I'm a little less impressed with the 9mm but the low price means more trigger time.

I like the MFS stuff alot. It's less dirty and I don't believe its corrosive, though I could be wrong. As for accuracy, its no better than the Czech or Polish surplus stuff. Now, the Prvi Partizan is considerably more accurate -- and not much more expensive. It also has quality reloadable brass.

You can get MFS with a 125gr SP bullet.
I found a box of MFS 125 gr. SP locally, shot 20 rds of that and 20 rds of S&B thru my Rusky and couldnt believe how clean the barrel was! It was still shiny with zero deposits visible after shooting and took FOUR patches to get clean! Compare to the fistful of patches it took to get the CZ clean after firing Czech surplus thru it. I think I'll be hitting up Trade-ex for a case

Cool, If I was in an area where I could sctually hunt with anything larger than .270, I would give some a try.

I have shot MFS ammo in 9mm,7.62x39, 7.62x54 and 308 and I have to say it is good cheep ammo. I did not like it in 9mm it seemed to be fairly inconsistent. 7.62x39 was great along with their 7.62x54. I was able to hit an old Pontiac Sunfire from around 300 yards every shot with 39 and 54 but not so much with their 308 ammo (big target so didn’t really see pinpoint accuracy it was just our way or painting a derby car)
I bought 500rnds of MFS 7.62x39non-corrosive for my CSA VZ58. Shot about 200rnds without any ammo related issues. Can't really comment about the accurracy as I shot at 25 and 100yrds with irons.
I just bought 1000rnds of MFS 9mm for my Glock so we'll see....
As long as it goes bang and stays fairly cheap I'm happy.

+ More accurate (appreciably noticeable but not precision shooting ammo by any means)
+ cleaner
+ non-corrosive
+ feeds and cycles reliably in a CZ 858, SKS and Vz. 58/57
- more expensive
- does not come in stripper clips
- non re-loadable being steel cased (not really a con as neither is surplus ammo)

Anyone who says the MFS is clean hasn't fired enough of it. It may be cleaner than the corrsive stuff, if it is, YIKES!!!
Below is from MFS. It's .223 mind you but I doubt there is any difference between calibers.
Czech Surplus is very dirty ammo, so any improvement is welcome. I'll be using it for my SKS which only sees low volume aimed fire these days. But I get what your sayin, there is better stuff out there but for price, accuracy and fouling the MFS seems like a good compromise to me. How many rds were fired through that AR?
I've run well over 500 rnd of the FMJ thru my CZ 858 with zero issues period. It tosses the empties 10 feet in the air, whereas the ejected Czech surplus rounds barely clear the gun, and one in 75 will get caught by the action as it closes.
