Mg08/15

What a nice thread. As you can see I'm a newbie and I just identify one bipod we have at the Citadelle's Museum in Quebec City. I'm responsible to conduct the inventory of the museum's collection and we have a bunch of miscellaneous parts that we were not able to identify at the first look. A MG 08/15 is in this bundle. Now, I will try to see if there is something else in the collection that belongs to this machine gun.

Thanks for all those pictures you have posted.

Welcome Martin. Good to see it has been of some help. I have sent a private message too.

Hey guys, can anybody point me to the step by step guide on MG8 bolt disassembly? I'm stuck and can't find anything except for later models that are not the same.

Did you get the link and images? I assumed you meant the lock?

They are your posts. Why don't you just edit them with functioning links so the photos appear?

Thank you Fenceline for your advice. Yes they are my posts but in the MG08/15 thread there are a lot of deleted photos and obsolete titles. It has just taken nearly two hours to fix the MG08 thread with a similar issue, so asking the moderator if there was a quick fix, ie one push of a moderators button to delete the offender seemed an obvious question! If there is not a quick fix then as you suggest I will have to address each one and avoid duplication.

Why not just correct the photo links so that the thread is not gutted of most of its interesting content?

Why not just correct the photo links so that the thread is not gutted of most of its interesting content?

I am assuming the post images have been deleted because the original photo has moved or gone. Therefore to me it is all about correcting the issue with the minimum of effort. So if a moderator has the IT capability to delete the post then super, job done. I then can start again with new images, new titles. If the moderator cannot, then I must find suitable images, and correct titles that fit into the theme, which although not impossible does require you will agree time and effort. So I am glad that my original question sparked so much interest butI do hope readers can see the issue. Afterall I am trying to add some interest on the German MG and so want to try and make it interesting, but logical!!
