Mg08/15

They're staying in the Museum collection. They're mostly just barreled receivers with cooling shrouds. None of the others have pistol grips or timing springs/covers. The MG08 is on display.

Unfortunately for us these boys appear to have meant business. Good view of the BFA, and the rain cover is just visible. Mark

On the subject of Canadian War Memorials/Guardians/trophys has anyone ever seen a MG08/15 as an example? Plenty of sleds and 08's but smaller pieces.......?

Yes, the 08/15s were out there too. I bought a pair of them years back when a nearby small town legion got tired of cutting the grass around the display. The bipods had been cemented into the top of the monument, and only one bipod came with the pair of guns.

Sorry, no photos.

Here is the cenotaph in town, you can see one of the guns just on the left, concreted into the ground.

There might be other photos at home, I'll see what I can dig up.

I thought that was a photo of the Haliburton Legion at first glance.
The MG08 is just to the right of where the photographer was standing. It is pretty rough; weathered, rusting away. I was able to make out a 4 digit number on it, but couldn't find a letter.
The MG08 downstairs in the Haliburton Legion looks MUCH better.
Their Lewis gun is really horrible. Incomplete with lots of arc welding.
