NavyShooter many thanks for the images. Quite an interesting Legion there with its its own armoury!!! I have managed to stop sobbing over the 'dying' MG08 outside. I have also been given the Secretary's details so will attempt to save it but in fairness the inside one is nice too!!!! I totally totally appreciate the importance of 'Memorial Guardians' but eventually this will be just dust. So thanks for the wonderful pictures and the beautiful snow. We have snow here in belgium at the moment but it tends to be a very very grey.

It hasn't changed. The Cenotaph MG08 was removed when the Cenotaph area was rebuilt, and then replaced in its concrete.
I would assume that these are trophy guns. Most of the men from the Haliburton area served in the Eastern and Central Ontario Regiments.
I've looked up all the names on the memorial plaque at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website. www.cwgc.org.
I have written and emailed to this Legion with absolutely no response. Any suggestions please? Sorry this was for Navy Shooter ref previous thread about an 08 in the Club.

Hey guys, can anybody point me to the step by step guide on MG8 bolt disassembly? I'm stuck and can't find anything except for later models that are not the same.
