Not quite as rare as you may think over here in Europe anyway. Quite often on some of the auctions these will pop up but with high number serial numbers. This sight became the standard MG sight for the inter-war period. Can't say I have seen any period photos with this pattern before 1918.

That's actually a deal!!!

I know several buyers who would purchase that DEWAT - the sledge mount alone is worth that value or possibly much higher in the correct market.

agentcq I am a bit confused. I am talking about with RRco the ZF sight and where it can be found. ie its rarity.
Are you referring to another thread?

Just stating that MG08 sled mounts are not easy to come by and even with a welded up MG08 sitting on top of it that $4500 is probably a reasonable price.

That response was from 2012ish I believe.

I even got MG1918 in touch with that seller back then. But I know they had comms issues so don't know the result in the end.
