I've always wanted to get add an MG08 to my collection but I have only ever seen one for sale, here on this site. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places.
There was a deactivated one up for sale on EE in.. 2020-2021ish. It was on a zeppelin mount or some frankenturret thing. The sale stayed up for 9+ months if I recall correctly.
I sometimes wonder who purchased that one. It was located out in B.C. when it was sold - that plus the cost was just a bit too much of a stretch for me.

The commercially made semi auto guns have been prohibited here in Canada. The auto and converted auto's have to be grandfathered.
Deactivated guns are the only option right now. The guns come up in auction with the option to deactivate, really sad.
RRCo - no did not see any Vancouver find? Could you signpost to the story please?
SigWig - thanks. Canadian rules sound even harsher than UK so explains the lack of ‘participation’. I know we all agree the absurdity of the tight controls on a very heavy items, when criminals can still buy and sadly use much more smaller and efficient weapons for their purposes, but it is an easy ‘gun’ law.
There must be still quite a bit in Canada though somewhere

Still on he hunt for accessories but recently I read somewhere about a Canadian Royal Legion Club being closed down, sadly due to limited membership, and the contents auctioned off. Items included lots of war trophy’s and veteran bring backs. Anyone know of this please? It included MG material. Mark
