True. There was a k98 with MG mag in it on collectorssource. I velieve they said it was welded in. Also there was some sort of 98 with MG mag on the wolverine surplus sale.

If you want a big magazine on a mauser 98k get a SARCO made 98k trench magazine. No fitting to speak of.

Hello, all.
I came across a few mg13 mags. Would there be any interest for them on the estand?
Unmodified for a G43 right now but I believe I could price them out at $120 wash modified.

I forgot to add... An unmodified one I would say about $90.
There are 9 magazines total.

For G/K43 Use: The MG13 Mag was never officially issued. All the ones you see today are postwar modifications aimed at the collector market - read FAKE.
The only true experimental MG13 mags you might find are at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.

It's a $30 mag as JP pointed out earllier. Worth even less when altered.

I heard some stories that the Czechs converted some MG13 mags to fit the G43, so there might be some legit Post War military examples out there.
As per WWII examples, highly unlikely.

I would also be carefull when buying from a large batch of MG13 magazines. IMA had one of their warehouses broken into and MG13 mags were on the list of missing items. There is quite the investigation south of the border and guys are getting busted trying to sell them at auction houses etc.

Czech border guard's rifle. There is a picture in one of the Gunboards threads of Czech guards armed with these rifles and the Vz52 with the huge night vision rig. Pretty sure one of the big Mauser books had a picture also.
