Hi guys need your help again
A buddy of mine is selling is prohibs 12,5 and 12,3

I wanted to get a feling of the value of a mg34 ca (12,3)
The gun seems in pretty good shape considering it was built in 1937
I gotten a few pics of it and looked at the barrel etc.... But I know nothing about this gun value. I was gonna put it up for sale on the board but really need any info you guys can get me... Should I just get it deactivated to sell it easier, cause I'm trying to help out a friend in need.

he also have an Australian L1a1 up for grabs But i might keep this one if it's not value much...

Thank's for all your help guys

Ben

Sweet - I love BSW guns and it has the early butt to boot! If that were a TNW, I'd value it at $5000. It's a C/A, so it's maybe a $2000 gun - sadly. As a dewat, it's probably worth about 3K or so.

Early pre-war gun makes it more desirable, I would think.

Some of the serial numbers dont match, one is force matched, other parts do match. If it all matched, it would be that much more desireable.

I hate like hell to see any gun deactivated, because it is a one-way trip. It can NEVER be re-activated.
Unfortunately, there is a very small group that can buy 12-3, while anyone can buy deact.

His call, but if the ever changed to allow those full and CA already in country to be traded freely, then the price would soar incredibly.

GUNMANQUEBEC;
We can order a SA receiver for you BUT that won't help you with your project....
Our SA Mg-34s (TNW) have a new receiver, redesigned trigger group, completely redesigned bolt, just to mention a few points.... ALL of this was required to get BATF approval in the USA....

Best Regards
John

John,

There are websites that cover the modification of the trigger group and bolt to TNW spec, but there are about 5 other parts besides the receiver you would need to order from TNW.

Cheers!

Hi John man that was a quick reply, I did not even need to call the store!
Any idea on the cost of converting it to TNW standard?
Could it be done?
I was gonna put it up for sale at 1800$ The cost to get it deactivated if need would be 200$ for the buyer

I paid $950.00 for my last Ca mg34 from csmilitary 2 years ago all matching my buddy just bought one 3 months ago for $1000.00 it's a funny market the mg 34's seem to be coming out of the wood work lately .L1's are going very cheap I just turned down 3 for $1000.00 in very nice condition

Okay thats a pretty FAL...

Mark....do you know where I can get the double 75 round belt boxes for my MG34...also trying to lighten the trigger a bit too...any help would be great

the triggers suck on those semi autos not much you can do except use it and it will get a bit better or your finger will get stronger .marstar may have some ammo boxes left if not my friend Bruce might have some at the next Ancaster show .BTW do you have a belt loader yet ????(Bruce might have left as well) I might lone you mine since I can't use it right now ..hopefully I'll get to use it again someday (heavy sigh!!) .BTW drop over some time I'll show you a pretty FAL plus I just finished a refurb on my Turkish issue Vickers tri-pod now thats pretty interesting

$1000 for a CA mg34? That sounds like a heck of a deal now, no? I would put one of those in the arsenal for 1K. I was even dreaming about this one in the EE for 2K dewated (no 12.3 :() thinking that wasn't so bad. Am I off base here?

I've been buying all kinds of stuff lately it just seems to come to me (could be the displays I do at gunshows) but really sometimes i see the prices of some stuff here and shake my head I mean no disrespect to anyone and if you're getting what you're asking more power to you BTW 1800.00 for the Ca mg34 on the EE isn't bad with the early butt and being a pre-war BSW 34 but some stuff IMHO is crazy plus and this has happened to me ..I have ,so I thought bought a rifle ,the guy took all my info and I was going to pick it up when he joked that someone had offered him more cash to brake the deal and I still thought it was a done deal when he emails me and said I didn't get end of story .this has happened to several guys I've talked to and guys have offered me more cash for a few things I was selling but but I can't do that .to get back to your question about dewatting this gun it would be a shame there are dewats out there but if it's the only way the guy can move it then it just might happen 2K is a good price for a dewat in this condition ..good old supply and demand.. it's a shame MG's are worth more dewatted but thats the way it goes any body can buy them so they go for premium

the biggest problem is finding a gunstore with a gunsmith willing to sign off on the dewat job there are specs to follow it may cost a bit as well it used to be fairly inexpensive at least here in Hamilton but since they changed things I heard the prices have gone up.you could try csmilitary they may take it as is phone Fred at 1-519-853-2701 tell him Mark sent you they are in Acton On
