mg42

it was probably the priceing

no sense spending huge$$$$ makeing them if you only sell a few

personally id NOT buy one at ANY price as where the hell do you get cheap 8mm ammo....you dont! no ammo makes a gun pretty useless

MG42's can fire 7.62 NATO by swapping the bbl and the feed platform. 2 minute job. This config is the MG3 ;)

ahhh

but still there is no cheap 308 around so back to square one

I have a semi 1919 I run the 8x63 i run 500 rnds min when I take it out so its GOT to be cheap

I can get sap's to take to a gunsmith or gunshow for display or to take them to be destroyed .it's sitting on it's layfette tripod as I type this. I had a friend come over who hadn't seen it or the vickers .I must go and oil them up to put them safey back in the safe where they will be safe and so will the Canadian public will be safe ...just wanted to see how many times I could get safe in a sentence ..safely that is
-----------------------------------------------------------
I obtained a SAP for a CA to "gunshow" once , after very much ado ,--- (they were refusing )( they had to consult their lawyers etc. ) the F.O. stressed to me ; no ammo, transported with ,or to be anywhere near the gun. So I politely invited her to come along , & suggested she should put in for govn't overtime as well!--- more money burned , more P.O.' ed
taxpayers .
I guess they'd definitely want to be there for a SAP to destroy the thing --- doing the country such a public service for Safety & all .

I have for years got sap's to do the local show here in Hamilton .it used to be a hassle sending all my cert numbers and s/n's for each gun plus the day and date of the show .I've been doing it for so long now that all they do is give me a blanket sap for all Ontario shows no matter what date or time and for whatever prohib i want to take they no longer list them .they do the same for my restricted as well ..now if only there was a real gunshow at a range ....

..now if only there was a real gunshow at a range ....

Probably wouldn't work. At least in the one incident of which I am aware, the SAP was issued, but the applicant was instructed that shooting the 12(3) was specifically not allowed, even though the SAP authorized transport to a shooting facility.

----------------------------------------------------
That's where my SAP was for , the local R&G club .
Guess that's why they were so stressed about it . What a crime it would be to fire a 12(3) CA at an Attorney General approved range ! ---Can't have that , Canadian democracy would crumble to dust!

dam.....so i guess the short of this is......i dont stand a chance of ever being able to get even a semi auto mg42 in canada.....

unless its a ruger dress up kit, or a paintball gun LOL

im in the same boat with the guy who wants the fg42....

thanks for all the replys and info guys.....

wouldn't these be legal in Canada??

http://www.brpguns.com/mg42semi.htm

it uses a full length semi receiver, that has been newly manufactured
it fires from a closed bolt so it would be legal here
and all the original f/a parts like the bolt do not fit inside

it is not a converted auto, because the receiver if of new manufacture,
does anyone know if these can be legally imported, I'm looking to get one for myself but am unsure of their status,

I plan on possibly using brp stampings to finish my m53 build...

BRP corp guns are A+ quality, much better than the Century variants. All the modifications to it mimic that of my build, or i guess, my build mimics their design (sort of). This should meet requirements for a non-restricted rifle, but thats just my opinion, i have nothing to back it up. I will find out soon enough once i complete my build and submit it for approval.
