Mi 3Gun April Schedule

Welcome back everyone. This year we are starting out with an Introduction to 3Gun and a Range Officer’s Class on Saturday April 18th. At Livingston Gun Club, located at 2440 Hunter Rd, Brighton, MI 48116. USA

Our Club level RO class will begin at 9:00am, breaks for lunch at noon, and goes until about 3:00pm. We will cover safety rules, range commands, scoring, clearing multiple firearms and making the range safe. Our working RO’s shoot monthly matches free. They also participate in an annual staff reward program which includes a random drawing for guns, ammo, equipment, accessories and more. You can also qualify to shoot the Championship match in September free. Bring your guns, gear and about 50 rounds of Rifle and Pistol ammo and 25 rounds of Shotgun ammo (# 6-8 birdshot). There is no charge for this class.

Our Introduction to 3Gun class will start at 12:00noon and go until about 3:00pm. It will cover safety rules, range commands, scoring, equipment and gear. Then you’ll get a chance to shoot 1 or 2 stages. Samples of gear and guns will be available. If you don’t have all 3 guns, let us know, you can borrow what you need. Bring what you have just as if you were going to a match. Bring a minimum of 30 rounds of Rifle and Pistol ammo and 12 rounds of Shotgun ammo (# 6-8 birdshot). There is no charge for this class.

Monthly matches – We have a lot of new ideas in the works this year, culminating in September with a bigger and better Championship Match. Due to the increase cost of prop items, triggers and stage effects, we have to increase the monthly match fee to $25.00 this year. We encourage and invite anyone to become involved with our program. If you help set up and break the match down or RO the match, you shoot free. You can also qualify to shoot the Championship Match free.

We are trying the Pre-Registration thing this year. We look forward to seeing each of you at the classes, monthly and Championship Matches. Make sure you get signed up at our web site and pre-register for either Class, our Sunday April 19th Monthly Match and our September 20th Championship Match.
Let us know if you can help out with the program this year.

Thank You,

Mi 3gun

MI3-gun at the Livingston Gun Club ROCKS!

The folks who organize and run/work the matches deserve kudos for putting on great matches... the whole "Here's a problem. Solve it" philosophy makes for some interesting/challenging shooting.
I was there last year for the debut of their newly built "Dark House". Minds were blown.
The LGC facility lends itself to great stage design... "their jungle run" is a shooters utopia of reactive steel...:D

I can't say enough good things about these guys... We'll be down to Brighton again this year :)
A few pics:
CGNer "bersmith" prepares to enter the Darkhouse. He's elected to go with his pistol and hand held light. Shooters had the choice. Carbine w/mounted light or HG with mounted/handheld light.

This "knife weilding bad guy" runs toward the shooter as he comes around a corner... CGNer "banger" didn't see it coming and was "stabbed" :D
Keep in mind the flash of the camera lights up the place... during the shoot it was totally black..

Last target in the Darkhouse... f**ked me up as I took time to decide what to do...? Shoot 'em in the head or shoot the detonator out of his hand..

Russ from CavArms shot with us in "Trooper Div."... I spent a lot of time drooling over his Saiga 12ga.

The moving Helo mock up is fun... Complete with smoke machine.

This stage meant shooting while looking through a body-bunker.. Okay it's just a riot shield, but you get the idea..

This stage meant everything from arms-length HG targets to shotgun steel close and far...

One day of all shotgun stages. One day of 3-gun... :)

Check out the vid at the bottom of the MI3-gun page... 'Gives you an idea of what to expect. Oh, and you can get a load of Jeffs awsome mag tube on his shottie :D

I highly recommend MI3-gun... the only thing they need more of down there is... Canadians:D

It's an easy drive to get there and there's a nice Holiday Inn just ten minutes from the range..

Ramcharger #1

I could not agee more with 667, Ramcharger and his crew put on a great match and run it very professionally. Kudo's to you ramcharger for a job well done. This batch of Canadians will be coming back for years to come.

Thank You Very Much!!!
We have the best staff and shooters around. I am very proud of the friendly, helpful environment we have here. This is a big leap for some competitors, with the cost and complexity dealing with three guns, but everyone is willing to help out each other. We look forward in seeing you all this year, and plan to bring some big things to the matches.
Thanks again,

I like the Kill - no kill way. It's easier to score and it gets the point across.
Thanks
Is that the kind of scoring where one shot in the "A" or two shots anywhere on the target eliminates the target; any other score is a time penalty that gets added to the time overall for the run? Lowest overall time wins?

Yes it is a time plus penalty system. We score handgun > 2 A or b hits or 3 C hits or better - neutralized, and rifle > 2 hits c or better - neutralized. The D zone is considered a non lethal hit. We try to encourage what you should do in the real world, focus on getting your hits into scoring zones.

We are Happy to announce a new Pistol Caliber Carbine Division this year. We have set this up to be a fun, shoot what you got division. All you need is a PCC, a shotgun and maybe a handgun as a backup. Unlimited magazine capacity in your PCC and handgun. Load em up and shoot em. Your PCC can be used on any and all targets that are safe to engage.
This year we are doing the pre-registration thing. Please sign up at the Mi 3gun web site. Indicate if you can help set-up, RO the match, or need to convey any special requests.

Next week, we will have details for the Classes and Match.
Make sure you are signed up on the Mi 3gun email list.

Thanks,

If you are going to attend the 3Gun Match, Leave All Firearms – UNLOADED AND BAGGED in Vehicles. Until you sign in at the Learning Center.

You might want to practice your different shooting positions. You’ll be engaging targets on the move, breaching doors and locks on gates. Rolling up on scene in our Squad Car and dealing with crowd control, sniping threat targets and hoping our Helicopter stays in flight while engaging threats on the ground. Bring your dark shooting gear; you’ll have to save the good guys in a dark building. Once you enter the facility you will need a light mounted on your rifle or pistol to determine good from evil - a hand held will be available for those using a handgun if you don’t have one.
Sign-in starts after 8:00 am
RO walk through at 9:00 am
Shooter’s meeting at 9:45 am
Shooting begins at 10:00 am
You’ll have to remember from last year,
Some stages you will select which and how to use your guns
Our philosophy is to establish a problem solving scenario
These are your tools – You solve the problem
We have 6 Multi-Gun Stages this Month
The total round count for the match is a Minimum of 132 rounds – if you don’t miss
Here are the individual maximum targets available for each gun
Rifle – 78 rounds
Pistol – 98 rounds
Shotgun – 43 rounds
This may increase slightly once things are set up on Saturday
So bring extra ammo just in case – a really good idea
I’ll be throwing things in this year to simulate real problems
and
Challenging your ability to overcome them
