Im trying to install a full grip kit MIAD on my new AR. The problem i'm having is the "panhead" screw that holds the grip to the receiver will not go into the hole. When i look down the bottom of the grip the hole in the grip and the receiver do not seem to match. The screw itself does not even want to go into the hole without the grip. Has anyone else had any such problems? The houge grip that came with the gun goes on and off fairly easily.

Can't you just use the old screw from the hogue? I can't remember if I had to change mine....

It's possible that one thread is metric and the other imperial? Is it possible that the screw that came with the MIAD is not original? ie: some guy lost it, so picked up a replacement at Revy?

I always clean the red stuff (loctite?) of the thread before I install the screw. I installed few of those kits and they always worked great. Mind you it was all done on various stag lowers.

Sure you have it in the right hole? :D

From what I remember the MIAD has two holes in it. I'll have to pull mine off and look. You may not line up 'cause it's in the wrong one.

ok...well i cleaned the red crap out of the threading like paulinski suggested and that helped get the screw in the receiver hole without the grip on... but the hole was still not lined up properly with the grip on. I did get the grip on but in order to do so I had to install it without the backstrap on and then just put it on after (i should have thought of that before). The backstrap was pushing the grip at a funny angle i guess. Thanks for the responses guys.

I will call you later canuklehead....I'm gunna have to reload some rounds before we go to the range next week:redface:
