if we're to go by the adage "too good to be true", I must say that a level 4 ceramic plate for 330$ and a level 3a exfil clone for 550$ sets off a few red flags to put it lightly..
Any info on the manafacturer or NIJ certification?

Otherwise if anyone plans on using these pieces for anything besides just larping, I'd advise extreme caution

assuming china

Research some china plate testing on youtube, many of them actually have certs and some despite having no certification test very well in some dudes back yard.

If you've got the money, buy the highest end screamin' bald eagle merica armor you can find... If i'm getting shot and my options are china level IV or bare chest, i'm picking china 4s every time.

Do you work a job where you are *LIKELY* to get shot? Buy the gucci armor. Do you work a 9-5 and want something in the closet for the unlikely what-ifs? China stuff is probably sufficient.

Well. That escalated quickly.cou:

We will post a certifcate as soon as we can get the file in our hands and or test one ourselves. We could buy these allot cheaper from China ourselves but instead we go through Military Depot out of Texas and pay a higher cost. They have their own 3rd party agencys who moniter QC.

We would love to only buy USA or Canadian made products, but the market does not favor it. The rate of sales is about 10 Chinese to 1 American made plate that will sell. If people did want the American made stuff, they would not have the ability to produce it. We all know with ammo companies out of the USA how the laws of supply and demand work if there is a 50% increase in sales, you will pay through the nose. Then people will say, screw it I will buy Chinese!

We had a guy who was going to Ukraine and wanted to save money by going with a level 3 plate surplus. We advised him that if his life is at stake, go level 4 AR500 made in Canada (Canarmor). It did not change his mind.

We used to stock tens of thousands of Leupold (and use them on our own rifles too), the market did not want it. It wanted Vortex and Bushnell.

I get the market sentiment thing and frankly support you guys stocking it if it's what it takes to survive as a business, nothing against you guys as a dealer personally (I've never dealt with you guys before so don't have anything to say). Mostly just wanted to comment on the actual safety factor of this kind of armor. The objective truth on this kind of thing is, armor is one of the few places you should never cut corners. The ballistics, materials, and manufacturing engineering alongside the physics that goes into actually developing armor is why armor is so damned expensive, and that's a very good thing. If the R&D going into your armor was so minimal and cheap that a manufacturer can charge 400$ and still make a pretty penny, I'd be seriously concerned. I get not wanting to break the bank for good stuff but this is equipment meant to protect your life, full stop.

That being said, if the customer you mentioned actually did what you said he did, not only does it scream reckless, but it also screams incompetency.

Lol. They said they stock it cause people want it. Not to save their business. Your new here. Try not to be a keyboard warrior.

Relax bud… dont’t be an armour Karen. If people want to buy this they can. Almost everything is made in China, I am sure it works better than anything else at the same price point.
