Micro-groove question

Hi, I know Marlin has been using the "Micro-groove" since 1953? But my question is: are pre Micro-groove Marlin 39A's more acurate, and if so why?

I know this doesn't answer your question but every Micro-groove Marlin I've shot has been scary accurate. The 39A is one of my all-time favorite rimfires regardless of what vintage you get.

x2. I can't speak for pre vs post but I can tell you my mid-70's vintage 39M is way accurate I absolutely love that rifle. When I'm gone my son can have it if he can pry it from my cold dead hands

The answer to your question is Who the Heck cares. Just get yourself a 39 and never look back. Mine is an early 80's model and is by far my best shooting 22.
