So I've been looking at getting a new set of BUIS for one of my rifles. I love the Troy Battle Sights, especially the HK style ones. Now I know that Troy also makes a micro set of pretty much all the standard sights that they offer, but according to Troy, their micro sights are a "low-profile sight designed for firearms with top rails higher than the standard M4." Makes sense to me...

Now, KAC also has a micro line of BUIS. The KAC's are the next set that I would like to purchase, but I can't find any info on whether their micro line is based on the same concept of Troy's micro sights. From what I've been reading, the micro sights offered by KAC are simply a more low-profile, slimmed-down sight, which allow for optics like the Elcan Spectre to be mounted further back on the receiver, while maintaining clearance over the rear KAC micro. Is this the case with the KAC micros, or are they designed with the same intention as the Troy line of micro sights. If anyone can chime in on this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have the KAC micros on my Mk18. I love them. The M4 front has a thin post that helps you to see more target at longer distances.
