Hey CGN,

I've been fooling around with the Tube Of You thing after a few buddies told me to.

Here is a video I posted on my Mid December Hunt Gear Run Down.

Super low budget but let me know what you think.

If you like it, there are some pack reviews and more stuff coming so please do check it out!

There’s a site sponsor here that sells those Stone Glacier De Havillands and I’ve always been a little curious about them, but when you picked them up — both pants and jacket — they seemed pretty loud. From 2:10 to 3:10 in the video, your mic was picking up every crinkle and swish.

How are they for sound when you walk?

On the upside, those zippered vents look good for regulating heat and cooling down fast. One problem with late-season hunts on public land in ON is that you have to go deep because of the pressure, especially post-rut, and the insulation you need in your stand makes it easy to overheat on the hike in. I’ve had my base layer saturate because it couldn’t wick away fast enough, so I had to shed layers then put them back on near the stand, which is noisy and a pain.

At least those De Havillands have a great system to open up and dump heat, it seems.

Based on your vid, I’m thinking they might be good for mountains and open country, but maybe not ideal for stalking or bowhunting?

I want to do a video in the future on hunting pants because, yes, these are noisy as all can be!! To the point the wife hates me wearing them around the house in the morning before leaving. They will wake her up.

Now, they are a great Pant when put into a layering system under something with all their features, but for stalking I would not recommend them. I do wear them as a non-hunting outdoor activity Pant also.

Now the Lite version they sell is much quieter, however isn't thick enough I find in the colder months though.

I have been hunting for the perfect hunting pant..Pant... and yet to find one that covers everything I want it to. Come close though.

I too been there on post rut Ontario hunts, and was always an active hunter pushing distance away from the pressured areas. I also sweat alot!! So why I like these and the Lite version.

Heck my sheep hunt I wore the Lite version and it was ridiculously hot and I ran them unzipped nearly the whole trip
