I shoot a lot of sk standard +, lapua target and cci sv. whats a good upgrade in the mid price. lapua center x and eley club aren't badly priced. are they an upgrade over what i'm using. sk standard+ shoots really well in my mpr. i'm looking for better without getting into $25 a box stuff.

I can give you a better answer in the coming weeks as I got a bunch of new kinds to try, as always different guns like different things. Eley sport and club are giving me a little better performance than SK+ and Rifle match, not much difference that I'm seeing between those Eleys. Shot one box of Eley Team and was more consistent than the other two for $9.90/ box 50. Eley Edge and RWS special match are around the same price point as Center-X for $12-13/ box 50 but I have yet to try them.

I have also tried eley target my rifle does not like it. out of all the cheaper stuff sk standard + is the only consistant ammo.

CenterX may well be the best bang for the buck.
After getting my CZ455 Varmint bedded I tried Eley TEAM, MATCH and TENEX. The best group at 50 yards was .70.
Next time out I used CenterX from a clean cold barrel and the first group was 0.26. Since then I have shot a 0.45 at 100 yards and today shot two different lots that were under 1" at 100.
Also today with the CZ455 American, CCI MiniMags were about 6". Blazers about 3". CenterX first shot was about 3" low and left. Using a hold on the opposite side of the first shot . . . 4 shots in the ten ring at 100 yards.
I think I will get the American Bedded and Pillared too at least then the torque on the action screws will be consistent. I guess the gophers will have to learn to digest CenterX's.

Keep in mind that Donna at HIRSCH will put together boxes of ammo for testing, and will be able to keep enough set aside that you can order a few bricks or a case. Just don't waste any time getting your testing done.
Buying TENEX at $20+ for 50 rounds is a good deal if it works in your rifle versus paying $50 for a brick that doesn't and may never work. Buying CenterX at $12 for 50 is a better deal. There is still some TEAM to be had, and the new EDGE has shown promise out of my BSA. with velocities from 1066 - 1081.

Funny, I thought CCI SV WAS the mid price accuracy ammo.....

I've had good luck with CCI Green Tag in a couple of my guns too. And at least one rifle loves the Remington Target ammo.

:runaway: Teehee! When you're talking to us accuracy nutz CCI SV is considered cheap plinking ammo. Top shelf ammo is priced up to $25/box that makes ammo in the $11-15 per box range "mid grade". It is pretty much the stuff that got rejected as the top line label, re-branded as the mid-grade label. Ammo like SK Rifle Match at $7.30 per box is not "match" ammo at all, it is low-grade target ammo. Good for practice as you can stumble across a good lot (my Savage LOVES it) and shoot a number of very good groups but flier issues means you lose competitions if you use it there. If you can't bear the thought of putting Thunderturds or Wildcat through your rifle, CCI is for the pop cans
