Mid grade semi's

You're still stuck in 1905 technology mode...…d:h: It's all good though Looky, I still like having you as a buddy...…..if that gubbamint you have in BC(bring cash) ever lets us travel there again I'll be sure to meet up next time on the way to the Island when I go to visit my father. :)

I actually had heard of Butler, went down the rabbit hole on the internet looking at builders in MT. I guess grading is subjective. In my world low end is $500 like a Girsan, mid grade is $1000ish, high end is the B guns.
At any rate grabbed a SX3 of the EE, hope to get my hands on it next week.
 
As much as i am a beretta fan ive always been impressed by the winchester sx1 and sx3. Ive never seen a sx1 fail and the only sx3s ive seen have issues is ones that have been played with or upgraded. Keep the stock tight to the receiver and it should be a great gun

The only SX-1 that I have seen fail, has more rounds through it than many people shoot over a lifetime. The Sx-3/4 is about as trouble free as it gets.

One of the fellows I goose hunt with had an SX3 break last season. The bolt link snapped causing the bolt to drive back into the rear of the receiver. It wrecked the return spring plunger from the force of the recoiling bolt. Another friend got the parts from WGP and had it running in 48 hours. The return spring was the cause of the failure. It had gotten weakened severely over time and a god awful pile of hard use. He hunts with the gun 7 days a week for waterfowl 7 weeks each season. That gun probably has had a combination of 15,000 3" and 3.5" rounds fired through it since new. The new return spring was 4" longer than the one that was finished!! Lol

There is a Browning sporting in the EE right now that just might be right up your alley.
Then again maybe a Remington 1100 might fit the bill.
Then after those two you can start with the other guns that start with the letter "B"...
Thats where I would search.

I just took my Browning Silver out this morning. Put two boxes of Federal target loads through it, I forgot how mild the recoil is. Great semi, for sure.
 
Got the SX3 out last week, put around half a flat of cheap 2 3/4 target loads through it. Ran perfect. Only bad thing is my son also likes it, can see adding another semi to the collection soon. There is some cheap 1100's out there, might have to give one a try.
