Mid May Coyote hunting? Ontario

Hi all,

I was thinking about going hunting and camping with a friend of mine somewhere up north in Ontario. Sometime mid-may. Just curious if there are good camp grounds with minimal light pollution to look at some stars at night. As well as coyote hunting, I heard a lot of places have cayote seasons open year-round...some even offer a bounty! I've also heard that you can't use anything greater than a 30 caliber?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Best place to start would be the regs to see if there is an area you'd like to go to, that has a season that time of year.

X2. I havent looked at the regs in a while but I thought coyote season was over mid march in ontario

Up here in WMU 42 wolf/coyote closes after the sun goes down tomorrow night and reopens September 15th I believe.

Almost all of Northern Ontario is closed to wolf and coyote hunting from the end of March till the middle of September

Better off to wait until the long weekend and take advantage of the walleye opener! Coyote hunting up north is a much harder game with there being very little open country. The guys I know who are successful at it run dogs in winter for them. If you want to hunt them year round it's Southern Ontario or come here to Saskatchewan?!
