5.6 lbs gun ,elcan 705 grams (1.5lbs ) with all mounting hardware included . bases ( lightweight tallys) total everything 7.2 lbs .elcans are lighter than nightforce atacr 908 grams not including attatchments ,scopes so dont know why you call them lead. there not lightweight leupolds 482 grams not including hardware ... , and theres leupolds that are the same weight i was surprised at the weight and there built tougher than most scopes you can buy...test dropes show they keep zero very well . the way scope fits it balances the gun well and if i want lighter i just flip scope out of bases and slap on a red dot that i sighted in before. voila im at 6 lbs .i did not want a super light rig for bush and i can flip from 1.5 to 6 with just a flip of leaver, can shoot both eyes open and low light the glass is crazy with the big tube of glass.will see how it goes.. i messed up a deer last year when i chased and accidentally fogged glass.elcan has a co witness sight above.. and remember i already had the elcan specter..just repurposing.

still trying to figure the scope, your right though about cheek weld .takes a couple secs to mount gun so maybe if change to low rings and a 1-8 forge bushnell .they have rainguard .. i love larger tubed 30mm scopes.

I would never bulge, if you like an optic - it goes no matter what people say. There is no ugly, the purpose of shooting is hitting.

Sorry, I don't normally gang rape, but I go with the consensus here, that abomination belongs on a trashy AR. Find some nice conventional glass with medium to low rings... Very nice rife though !

okay so added different scope hows that

Better, but with such a slender delicate and tasteful rifle should be paired with a scope that possesses the same qualities... for the close range you intend, a straight 1" tube scope with low profile turrets (not big knobby Bushnell turrets)... such as the VX-2 1-4X20mm or VX-3 1.5-5X20mm scopes mounted in slim steel rings. It would be every bit as effective and would have the added bonus of making your hunting partners jealous, and being hyper-photogenic posed over your big buck.
