Migratory permits and dates released

Just had a look online to see if the Canada Post offices have received the migratory game bird licenses and saw that they have released the dates. In the southern region of Ontario, it looks like early goose opens as normal during the first week of September, but for some reason the duck season has been delayed a week and now opens on the final Saturday of September. This really sucks!!

No changes to bag/possession limits though

Anyone else notice a change in their province or region???

no change for the Yukon and yes the permits are in here too ...

I see you can obtain migratory permits at your LGS now, instead of only the post office.

This year it opens the 28th. I guess we were spoiled in recent years where the season opened between the 22nd-24th. Oh well, blame gets placed on the calendar

Maybe my memory is just a little wonky, but this year it seems like they increased the Black Duck limit in the Northern District to 4.

Openers are the same as I always remember, Sept 1 for geese and the 10th for ducks.

fyi..season opener is the 28th because it is the Saturday in September closest to the 25th. season opener was once pegged as the 25th regardless of what day it fell on but hunter numbers declined so opening date was changed to reflect ...the 25th or Saturday closest ..[.Ontario south opener date referred to]

Makes sense....just seemed to be a tad late as compared to the previous three seasons

Your memory is just fine. Us old retired guys have time to look it up. I don't think I have ever had the opportunity to shoot 4 blacks in one day anyways.

Goose also opens late to match with duck opener.
