I am looking at purchasing an Elite 4200 6-24X40 but don't know what reticle to pick. Putting the scope on a Savage 10FLP in .223. I have no expeirence with Mil Dot reticles so a little lesson would also be appreciated.
 
I grabbed up a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30x50 Mil-dot. I like it alot, but I have yet to get past 300yds. your center x is pretty fine and easy to see, but if you use the mildots they can cover a target at extended ranges.
 
Once you learn to use a mil-dot scope properly, they are the cat's arse. I absolutely love them....when I remember to adjust the zoom:redface:
