Good morning. I bought 500 pcs. of mil. once fired .223 brass the other day. Great price!! ALOT of work!
They were guaranteed once fired and they were all in nice shape. I decapped and sized them, trimmed them on my lathe type trimmer, reamed the primer pockets, deburred the flash hole, and deburred the mouth. Boy, do I wish I had one of those motorized prep centers!
Woke up this morning and thought someone had run over my hands with a truck. Thankfully, alot of this process only needs to be done once, and now I have 500 pieces that I can probably reload for a long time. The large number and the small size of the cases is detrimental to my generally good mood!
So, is it worth it? If they turn out to be really good, then yes, very worth it. Only time will tell. One thing for sure... if I ever do this again, I'll be buying one of those prep machines before I touch them!
My only hope is that I can pull the trigger today without whimpering like a puppy... C.
