Military Brass on Crown Assets Auction Site

just think of how much fun it'll be sorting that brass, 9mm, 223, 308 etc. not for me dudes.

40 inches by 48 inches by 36 inches high, each one will contain about 1000kg of mixed brass for SAA, as stated above you could have everything from 50 cal to 5.56mm and a bunch of it could be blank ammo thus unusable as anything but scrap.

It doesn't go for cheap either. If you search with the keyword "Brass" on the whats already sold section, you will see that it has generally been selling for big $. A recent sale of howitzer brass here in Shilo saw about $11 a shell....not a bad price until you consider that you had to buy 2144 of them. The small arms brass has also been going for a fair price. Lots of around 6000 kg usually sell for around $30,000, or about $5 a kg.

Mind you, if someone were looking to reload 50 cal on a commercial level, this could be a good source of brass located domestically. Of course, once someone does this, and lots of IVI marked 50 starts hitting the Cdn market, who wants to bet that future lots will be crushed first?

Sad, but probably true! Still, might be worth doing to GET that batch of IVI marked .50 on the market, anybody.....

The saddest thing I ever saw was when I was posted to Dundurn, watching time ex'ed or quarantined SAA being burned! Thousands of rounds at a time! Cases of 9mm and 7.62! and me a starving 2Lt trying to keep my babies (Inglis HP, CZ-75 and Aussie L1A1) fed!
