more info
It is a forged, curved blade with a tang. The tang passes completely through the wooden handle and is about 6" long. The blade is 1/4" thick at the handle and about 1 1/2" wide. It broadens to more than 3" wide and is
11" long. The final 3 or 4" curves sharply, like a toucans beak. The cutting edge is the inside edge of the curve. The handle is plain wood with three ribs near the but end. There is an iron band at the blade end, and an iron cup over the but end. The tang protrudes through the wooden handle and has a washer and nut securing it. The whole thing weighs almost 3 lbs.
