I recall someone mentioning a website that new could search for information on soldiers from WW1 and possibly WW2. I have a number of medals that I picked up yours ago in a consignment shop and want to a bit of research on them.

One of them is from the Dorset Regt (inscribed on the edge of the medal).

Can anyone give me some info and direction?

Thanks

PS I brought them to a gunshow and a few people wanted to buy them from me, but wouldnt give me any info on them.

Post some clear photos of the medals with their ribbons.

Someone will identify them, sure enough.

We have all been "took" at one time or another. When I was starting out, I got "took" by an older fellow who said he was helping. He helped himself to a very nice DCM which, he told me, was very common and not even worth getting a ribbon for. It was long-gone by the time I learned that it was second ONLY to the VC.

On this forum we do have people who will OFFER you 50 cents for a VC.... but I am happy to say that I really do not think any of them would actually DO that! At least, I'm pretty sure nobody here would do that. Bast would really GET THEM if they did, not even to mention that they would become a total pariah once the word got out.

So it's "Show and Tell" time again except, this time, you show and we tell, and no charge for the help. Howzat?
