military primer pockets

Canuck: is the RT1200B good s$$t? I have 2k 1x fired 223 to be trimmed in the future. Does it need extra step to debur afterwards?

How about a swagging tool? What do you recommend?

Thanks!

The RT1200b cuts a perfectly clean mouth, so deburring isn't needed. If it starts to leave less than a perfect mouth, it's time to rotate the cutter. Eeach cutter has three surfaces, so it will last for a long time. Even when retired from .223, it would still be useful for .308.

If you use boat tailed bullets, the RT1200 is all you need. If you load square base bullets, sadly you may want to chamfer, a job the RT1200 won't do.

As for a swager, I only use my press.

Me thinks I will just buy the dillon stand alone swager tool. Been itching to buy a scope for my Norc M4 too. I only fired 10rds with this devil. I likely fire a little bit more until I reload my own stuff. Thumbs down for factory ammo due to costs. :)

I have an RCBS primer pocket swage die but don't use it much. If I have a small number of cases to do I just use an RCBS de-burring tool to cut the crimp out. If I have a lot to do I chuck up a 5 flute HSS countersink in my drill press, run it at lowest speed and simply hold the primer pocket against the countersink for a couple revolutions and the job is done quickly and easily.

I'm waiting to receive Dillon swager but I didn't know you can use de-burring tool in the meantime.

I'll try it out this weekend.
