who/ how do you guys deal with millitary crimp pockets?
reaming, or swedging, whats best?. i have a CH swedge tool, and its not worth a pinch of coon S*#@.
thinking about going to a ream system, or trying the RCBS swedge system. hopefully its better than the CH one

I have been using an RCBS swager for years and have put thousands of rifle / pistol brass through it. Very uniform, over hand reamers.

Yes I have bent one set of large/small shafts over the years. RCBS will replace them free of charge, received replacements within 6 days. Not a cent did I pay. Second set is holding out good.

I have reamed thousands ( use the RCBS reamer in motorized drive ) . This is the easiest way and removes the crimp quickly BUT the problem is the primer can still "catch" as it is being seated, expeically if you are chugging away on a progressive...its a pain when it happens

I have also swaged about 500 on the RCBS ( BTW Wholesales sports "Uncle Bobs Bargain Center has them for $23 ! ...don't know if there are any left though part #86581 ) . The problem with this system is its hard on your press and the "case stripper" that pulls the case off the male mandrel is hokey as hell. It can take many hard lifts ( on the downstroke of ram ) to strip the brass of the madrel

All the brass that are swaged with this never catch the primer so it does the job but its a real bear

The Dillon Super Swage is lightyears ahead of the RCBS but it is way more expensive. After using the Superswage it makes the RCBS look pretty archaic

If you only have to do a couple hundred then the RCBS will certainly do the job and its cheap enough. If you need to do thousands then buy the Dillon

If you want to go really cheap ream them. IF the primer catches you can always fiddle with the case until it slips in but this is a pain in a progressive

well, after carefull consideration, i bought a dillon 600 SS.
who said it?.i should have bought one of those years ago.
very simple, very strong, should last forever.
picked it up at the shootin edge today, and have done maybe 1500 5.56 allready.
